Tasting note

The 2019 La Part des Anges was vinified in the usual manner, in barrel and foudre, where the wine rested for 14 months before assemblage in cuve, and then resting another 18 months there before bottling. This was bottled just a month before my tasting. The nose is all dried orchard fruits swirled with a little honeyed oak. A supple, spiced and rather honeyed character defines the start of the palate, with little seams of dried fruits and toasted oak. It has a rich sense of vivacity, and good acidity for the vintage. Defined and fresh, I think this will age well. There is a little residual sugar here, just 3.7 g/l, the total sulphite level is 45 mg/l and the alcohol is 14%.
