Tasting note

The 2017 Extra-Brut Anecdote Lieu-Dit Les Varosses is the first vintaged rendition Mousée has produced of this bottling. Exhibiting notes of pear, ripe Meyer lemon, bee pollen and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive, with more mid-palate generosity and texture than its leaner, most recent non-vintaged predecessor. It was disgorged in February 2021 with 1.5 grams per liter dosage.

Tasting note

The 2017 Extra-Brut Blanc des Blancs Moussé Anecdote is a blend taken from the Varosses and Terres Rouges lieux-dits in Cuisles and Jonquery respectively. A rich, deep Blanc de Blancs, the 2017 shows a feeling of weight and resonance that is more similar to that of a Pinot-based Champagne. There is terrific texture driving a core of citrus, floral and savory nuances. The finish is maybe just a bit fleeting, but this is a strong showing for a very difficult year.
