Tasting note

The 2015 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a killer bouquet, one of brilliant delineation and detail. The scents of blackberry, briary fruit and pressed iris seem suspended in the air. Utterly seductive and entrancing. The palate is extremely well balanced, powerful and ripe, displaying a stunning line of acidity. There is a patina of new oak still to be fully assimilated, but the depth of fruit and its arching structure take your breath away. Out of almost 500 wines tasted over two weeks, this may well constitute the biggest surprise. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
