Domaine Dujac Morey St Denis 2005 (Ex Domaine 2023) - Bt | JM93

Tasting note

I am always a little bit apprehensive opening up a 2005 red Burgundy so early in its potential life, though maybe we can just begin to look at some village wines. I am very fond of Morey-Saint-Denis anyway, but Dujac’s village version always plays well above its station. The bouquet is wonderfully welcoming, the palate says OK, but don’t be in such a hurry. The whole bunch vinification offers a spicy touch, but in a year like 2005 it only offers a minor key alongside the concentration of delicious dark fruit, which made a great match with a dish of slow cooked pork ribs assisted by a little rosemary, thyme and (rather more) garlic.
